Previously, Aulia wrote an article, that may be exagerate the fact, about me leaving DailySocial. But what he wrote yesterday is true, I am no longer the chief editor of DailySocial and currently working on a new project.
Introducing Trenologi.com, my new toy – or let’s call it project (to make it sound more serious) – after involved in developing DailySocial for more than 3 years. Trenologi is still under the same company which is responsible for DailySocial – sorry, Aulia. I’m not literally out of the building. I will still write for DailySocial, although won’t be as often as I did when I was chief editor.
Trenologi is a tech blog aimed for public with news coverage that focusses on consumers. It will discuss various things related to technology starting from internet culture, social media and gadget. Articles will be written with a more casual language and will stay in character as a blog.
Along with the introduction of Scoop’s new look for iOS, the newsstand service provides subsription feature for its users. As described in its official website, version 3.0 of this newsstand app which comes with a new look for iOS version – iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. It also provides some new features.
Those features are shopping list, newspaper tab, manage collection, magazine subscription with 3, 6, or 12 month subscription option and cheaper price than buying it one issue at a time, although not all magazines have subscription facility. Another feature is Restore Purchase which is a facility for user to returned purchased magazine using Scoop ID. With Scoop ID, a user who has made a purchase could integrate all the content that has been purchased, for example, if you buy content from Scoop for iOS, you can download it for free on Android version, and vice versa.
The new subscription feature puts this app on par with the Android version which already has the same facility. In the previous article, Willson Cuaca – CEO of Apps Foundry, the developers behind Scoop, says that the proportion of the income is dominated by iOS. We’ll find out in a few months whether the addition of the subscription feature will improve the revenue generated from his app.
There are many websites that provide list and information of job vacancy in the market, some of them specifically targeting certain segment. Now, there is another job listing website based on the location of the workplace, JobLocal.me. Developed by no stranger, Willy Ekasalim who is also the founder of Bistip, together with Kreshna Utama.
In a conversation via email, Kreshna Utama, CEO of JobLocal.me, explains that JobLocal.me’s service is to provide a list of vacancies based on the name of the area that can be recognized by job seeker. This means a more familiar name of the location instead of the official name of the location.
The area division is based on the traffic density condition. This may be one of the excellence offered by JobLocal. Kreshna explains that the area division is one of JobLocal’s main focus and it’s done its own data collecting based on observation.
Last month, Touchten released its newest game for iOS that later on is also available for Android. Anton Soeharyo, CEO of Touchten, says that Infinite Sky is released with freemium strategy; it’s free for the time being and will be changed to paid later on. Until today, Infinite Sky still has a good rank on the free game download in iTunes Store.
I have another conversation with Anton to ask about the latest development of Infinite Sky game. It is explained that the total download reaches 224.552 with the highest comes from US, UK and China and placed 14 on the overall app rank in the United States (by the time this article is written). Meanwhile, in App Store Indonesia, Infinite Sky ranked 9 for top free. In addition, based on a data sent to DailySocial, this game also places in a good rank in several markets such in the US and UK and several other countries.
This game has also been updated with various new facility such as pilot with Indonesian feel, gameplay with joystick (before, it’s only tilt method), first person view and fast speed, difficulty level adjustment, etc. and the most affecting one when I played it is faster loading time.
Remember a company called Enervolution (ENVO)? I once wrote about Enervolution or ENVO and mentioned that the company focuses on apps development for iOS. ENVO might be known for its first product, Evolitera which was a digital book service and had been wrote several times on DailySocial. This time, I have a casual chat via email with Eduardus Christmas, Founder, CEO, & Chief Innovation Officer of PT. Enervolution (ENVO) about ENVO’s iOS apps which one of them is a top paid app in App Store Indonesia.
Currently, ENVO concentrates in apps development. Eduardus explains that they are developing apps dedicated to iOS and released for the first time on April 2012. There are 6 apps available on App Store.
Those apps are Aprilio Kingdom (the label of Kevin Aprilio), Farah Quinn (Chef), Ananda Sukarlan (Pianist), Gugun Blues Shelter (a blues band), Sukarno (in partnership with Bung Karno Foundation), and Prof. Jimly, former Chairman of MK.
