Android platform users must be confused by the many apps on Google Play. Of those million apps, there are many apps which do not run as it should, be it local or outside apps. This affects local developers. They build an Android app, which arguably very qualified but having difficulty to promote the app because of it.
Onebit, a company that often releases mobile apps, recently launched an app which will help you to find a place to break your fast. The app which developed Android platform is called Buka Di Mana, and available for download on Google Play. This app is built using the content from Urbanesia which recently officially open its API for public.
Often times, we see apps by local developers made it to the popular global marketplace, but most of them are made to cater the need of global market. Not many aim for the local market. Amongst this few, there are apps by Trust Studio called Tagihan Listrik and Tagihan Telkom.
I think both apps are very helpful in solving the problem faced by many Indonesian. The basic idea of those apps is to helo the user to check and inspect the amount of electricity bill (PLN) and home phone (TELKOM).
User needs only to enter the PLN or TELKOM customer number in to the apps. After pressing the button to check the bill for the inserted number, the amount of the bill for that month will be displayed. Actually, the purpose of both apps is only for checking the amount of electricity/phone bill.
But there’s something interesting in both apps.
Amikom Game Dev (AGD), a STMIK AMIKOM Yogyakarta’s student activity units, launches its first Android game. The developed game is called Jumping Granny, and already available for download from Google Play so you can play it on your Android device.
Jumping Granny game is quite simple, Game Jumping Granny ini cukup simple, tells a story of a grandmother who wants to save her grandchild who was abducted by alien. Although the download count is not a lot but there is an interesting phenomenon in the launch of the game by AGD which is a part of Amikom.
BlackBerry 10 Jam Jakarta has been held by RIM on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at JW Marriot Hotel. telah diselenggarakan oleh RIM pada hari Selasa lalu, 10 Juli 2012 di JW Marriott Hotel. Enthusiasm of the local developers are shown in welcoming the new and different platform by RIM. This BlackBerry 10 platform is indeed very interesting technology-wise, very different with the platform in the previous BlackBerry phones (OS 7 and below).
Although the launching of BlackBerry 10 is postponed until 2013, but that does not hinder the enthusiasm of 350 local developers who came to learn about BlackBerry 10. From the developer’s side, BlackBerry 10 is very interesting because it uses many programming languages in its development such as C/C++, Java Android Runtime, HTML 5, etc. as explained by Muhammad Syumandityo Noor – Evangelist Developer of RIM for Indonesia.
When there’s a restaurant delivery service Klik-Eat.com for Jakarta and its surrounding area, recently in Yogyakarta there’s a similar service. This service provides delivery for food (not only restaurant) and it’s called PesanSaja.com.
PesanSaja.com is one of PT. Dipeta’s products. The company that has a headquarter in Yogyakarta also has another service called T4nya.com, a location based social media which reported once on DailySocial.
It’s safe to say that PesanSaja.com provides the same food delivery service with other delivery services. But there’s a difference with PesanSaja.com, namely the choice of food it offers. PesanSaja not only offers to deliver main course but also other categories of food; snacks, delicacies, souvenirs, etc.
